Why is my restic s3 bucket bigger (double size) than restic stats?

Hello restic community,

after some weeks usage of restic (automated over cronjobs) my restic s3 bucket is now bigger than my data.

minio console: 12_10-34-50

$ restic stats
repository xxxx opened successfully, password is correct
scanning...
Stats in restore-size mode:
Snapshots processed:   222
   Total File Count:   5503128
         Total Size:   12.286 GiB
