Why does restic-server default to using the /tmp directory as the data directory?

Why does restic default to the /tmp/restic as the data directory when it is the directory generally used for temporary stuff, ie is not really meant to survive reboots or maintenance?

I’m not a developer and I have no actual knowledge of the real answer, but it makes sense to me as a default because it’s probably the only place I can think of that’s known to exist and be writable by almost any user.

So rather than error out if a directory isn’t specified, they chose that one.

It’s a good default for testing. I don’t think the rest-server defaults are meant to be “Production” ready.
