What am i doing wrong?

trying to use restic 0.18.1 on windows server2016.

i set up an smb backend using rcloneand i am able to lsd and mkdir on the share with expected results however when trying to init the repo or backup to therepo nothing is happening to the repo on the share. its happening in %appdata%\local\temp\

restic -r rclone:nas:home\restic-repo backup d:\lots of stuff\ anything wrong with that?

i cant be filling up the OS partition!

Also, I don’t think there should be a backslash in the path in the repository URL, the documentation shows regular slashes: Preparing a new repository — restic 0.18.1-dev documentation

The command in your questions is obviously just a theoretical example, but the spaces in d:\lots of stuff\ anything might also be a problem and you should put paths with spaces in quotes.

it looks like it was the wrong slash.in the rclone destination in the restic command it needed to be -r clone:nashome/restic-repo rather than rclone: nas:home\restic-repo
