how often is the prune operation recommended to run?

Hello @cberni,
Prune operation is mostly about disk space. If you have enough, you don’t have to run it at all. Then again, as it is quite expensive operation, waiting many months before first run might not be wise idea, either.
So, in a nutshell, if you’re short on disk space, run it after every backup. If you’re relaxed, run it on weekends. And if you don’t know what to do with all that unused disk space, well… run it every month.

I use the B2 backend and I have various repos there in different buckets and I run all my prunes Monday morning at 1AM and it is super cheap in terms of API calls. I used to run if every day in the morning but I had such high download calls that made me change it. Haven’t had a problem since.
