I’ve been using restic for about 10 months now. Every week I make a check that it is doing what it is meant to. I have developed a cron/TaskScheduler-fired Python script which allows me to have multiple snapshots themed “10-minutes”, “hour”, “day”, “week”, “month” and “year”, relative to a given directory of precious data, with all files under it.
It works superbly. The total size of the repo is now about 3 times the GB size of the actual directory I’m snapshotting… given how much information it contains (after 10 months) this is truly amazing.
I want to tell everyone about restic… it’s superb, and no other backup program (as far as I know) comes anywhere near it. Keep up the good work!
