So I don’t think this feature exists yet… but I use Restic at work a lot, and I swear most of my users’ data is 2/3rds duplicate files.
It would be helpful if there was a tool (probably 3rd party, I don’t know if this necessarily belongs inside Restic itself) that would print out files that have all the same duplicate chunks.
Yeah, I could use a duplicate file finder - but some of these folks have like 37TB worth of data, and if that information is already inside the repository… it would (probably??) save time.
Just a thought. Not sure if any one out there has the knowledge or the time, but it just crossed my mind. ![]()
