In some scenarios, Restic failed to back up files such as permission problems, etc. If the directory is huge, could Restic fail fast, not continue to back up, and not generate one snapshot?
I’m not really sure about what exactly you’re trying to achieve. The current behavior of just skipping inaccessible files but otherwise continuing with the backup is based on the idea that an incomplete backup is better than no backup at all.
