Rclone serve restic still recommended?

is rclone working as rest-server still a recommended option? I did not find many restic entries in the rclone changelog, so i doubt that the rclone serve restic code is up-to-date.
Not sure if I am asking in the right place, but I found an old comment of Alex telling, rclone is using the original rest-server code. So please excuse me if I should have asked at rclone.

Note that whenever you use the rclone: backend, you in fact use rclone as rest-server (over stdin). So I would say, rclone as rest-server is still recommended.

If you are looking for a specific feature your REST service should fulfill, you’d better ask the rclone community, though.
